Sting’s real name is Gordon Matthew Sumner. He was born on October 2, 1951, in the port city of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, the major industrial center in Northern England. His father, Ernest Matthew Sumner, for a long time worked as a fitter in a local engineering firm and later owned a small dairy. His mother Audrey worked as a hairdresser and an auxiliary nurse.

Contrary to existing rumors, he does not own a castle in England, but he does own a very large manor house originally built in the 16 century, where he spends most of his spare time with his family: his wife and six children of two marriages. Sting’s second spouse is the movie producer Trudie Styler. They married on August 20, 1992 at Camden Town Registry Office (private ceremony), followed by a church blessing at a local church near their home Lake House two days later.
